Spa Filter Cleaning

Gerald Nevels asked:

To achieve utmost efficiency and enjoyment of your hot tub, regular spa filter cleaning is definitely a requirement. How often you need to clean your spa filter depends on a number of things such as filter type, frequency of spa use, & amount of debris in the hot water, etc.

One way to keep a longer spa filter life and maintain clean hot water is to rotate your spa filter. While cleaning the dirty filter, substitute it with a spare one. Allow the cleaned filter to completely dry. That way there is no wait time.

You may also clean your hot tub filter by manual cleaning. You may rinse or spray every pleat with a garden hose, making sure all particles and visible matters are washed down. This may be done every two weeks, or more often for heavier spa use.

Every three to four months, the filter cartridge should be pre-rinsed or sprayed by a hose, then soaked overnight (follow instruction on the package) using a hot tub cleaning solution. After 24 hours, rinse your filter again with the hose, then allow to completely dry before use. You may also use an oil & scum absorber periodically (follow package instructions) to prolong filter life and maintain clear water.

Another simple and very effective way to clean your spa filter is to use the Automatic Filter Cartridge Cleaner. You will just have to connect it to a garden hose, spray filter with spa filter cleaning solution, then connect the end cap of the filter to the hose and turn on the water. It is fairly simple method and the work will be done.

Depending on your water source, scale and calcium deposits may be a concern. Muriatic Acid is probably one of the known calcium scale remover, but there are a number of products available now that are less powerful but just as effective. The cartridge is soaked in the solution until “bubbling” stops. The result is usually immediate and the scaling will disappear. Follow the safety precautions and instructions on the label

To maintain a longer lifespan of your filter, it is recommended that the spa filters be changed annually. You should also avoid detergents, bleach and other household cleaners in your hot tub to avoid foaming of the water. Bleach can cause the fibers in the filter media to degrade. Lastly, never place your spa filters in a dishwasher or power washer to avoid damaging the pleats. Always use cleaners specifically for spa filter and cartridge cleaning only.

Hot Tubs and Spas Healing Touch

Anirban Bhattacharya asked:

Hot tubs and spas have a lot to offer for everyone. You can simply submerge into the hot water and shed off all your worries and tensions. To get the best benefits of a hot bath, you need to have a cleansing shower. Also, make sure the water you use for the bath needs to be free from any kind of contaminants, germs and bacteria.

This is not as simple as it seems. If you are using a spa or a clinic, make sure the tub is properly sanitized between clients. Use enough chlorine and other disinfectants to get rid of all unwanted materials for your personal use.

Spend around 20 minutes in the bath tub and after that you can move out and enjoy the massage fro at least ten minutes. If this is not possible, then lie flat on a firm bed with a small towel rolled up to support your neck, and a slightly larger towel supporting your lower back.

The position will allow you to get rid of pain in spinal and you’ll feel more relaxed while listening to really soothing music while doing this. Even, you prefer to take bath in hot bath placed outside the home, you can do it easily. First see the temperature of the air and grab a robe with you. Make sure you’ve protected your hot tub from bird droppings, air-blown debris, and, especially, contaminated water by multiple users.

You can enjoy the natural look and get the best bath. For adding more fun while taking the ultimate bath, you can sip of a fine wine and feel really special and pampered. Enjoy the power of hydrotherapy and throw yourself in utmost peace.

Get a suitable choice while buying a cool hot tub spa for your home purpose and feel on the top of the world.

Two Person Hot Tubs

Brad Burns asked:

When you feel tired and stressed at the end of a hard day, then what better way to relax than in a hot tub? Getting into that hot swirling water and just feeling the tension evaporate is magical, but is a hot tub right for you, or will it be too big and expensive?

You see, many people would love a hot tub in their garden, but do not go ahead and get one because they believe that it will be too big and impractical, fortunately for them this is no longer the case. These days, there are hot tubs specifically designed for two people available, and of course as you can imagine, they are a lot smaller than your standard hot tub. Now as you can imagine, these small two person hot tubs go down a storm with people that have limited space, or simply do not see the need to have a great big traditional hot tub taking up half of their garden. But what are the main advantages of having a two person tub?

Well besides the obvious space saving benefits of having this kind of small tub, in a way it is also more hygienic as you will not be sharing it with all your friends and family (which if you ask me is the best reason of all not to get one!)

Also, another advantage of purchasing a smaller tub is the practicality of getting it into the garden. By that I mean because of its compact size it is easier to get through a door, rather than having to pay money for things like getting a crane or something similar to hoist it into your garden for you. Also, If you live in a country such as the UK which tends to have cold winters and not too hot summers, then a small two person hot tub could go in something like a conservatory, which will enable you to be able to use it all year round.

Price wise you can get a small tub very reasonably these days, from anywhere between $2000-$4000, which is not too bad when you consider how much you could be paying for a standard size tub. Also, when you compare it against a bigger tub, you are also going to make huge savings on your water bill as you wont be needing to use as much to fill your tub And of course, this in turn reduces your electricity bill as there is less water to heat.

How to Spot a Cheap Hot Tub Cover

Shawn Parker asked:

If you’ve ever owned a Hot Tub you know how important it is to have a good cover. It keeps bugs out, heat in, and costs low. The average temperature is 90 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. In order to maintain that constant temperature you must have a good cover. Most people want to save a few hundred dollars on a cover after they’ve just spent thousands on the spa and all the accessories. If you choose to save a few hundred dollars up front, I must warn you, you’re going to pay thousands in the long run. Without a good cover your hot tub is going to endure more wear and tear than it has too. The motor is going to work more because it has to keep that steady temperature.

Hot tub covers are like anything else that is manufactured. You have different levels of quality for different types of people. The high quality covers are made with top grade vinyl that stands up to harsh weather conditions. These are the obvious choice for a hot tub that’s outside. For the inside you can get the middle of the road cover and be perfectly safe. Never choose the cheap vinyl that’s see through and light as a feather.

The inside of the cover should consist of an aquatic grade foam core instead of the cheaper construction grade that many retailers like to sell you. The construction grade foam is not resistant to water. It also lets about 30% more heat escape because of how thin it is. The aquatic grade foam is resistant to water and keeps up to 30% more heat inside.

How can you tell the difference between the two? The cheap cover is going to be extremely light, flimsy, and could have a nice cover to disguise the inner layers. The higher quality covers are going to be heavy and durable. Most of them will have handles to make lifting safer for you and the cover. There is no doubt that you’ll know a good hot tub cover when you see one.
